Duty of owners to periodically check their empty proeprty

I think there is a piece of legislation which places a duty on owners to peiodically check their empty proprty.  Could anyone point me in the direction of the legislation as I wish to quote it on a letter but can't for the life of me remember where I've seen it.  thank you.

Thses talk about occupier or person having control and the duty they have to ensure the premises are safe for visitors. The definition of visitor does not just relate to someone you invite onto the premises but someone who could be expected to be on the land by law - postman, for example, or council officer investigating complaints or condition of empty properties?

I use this with empty property owners, as well as still being responsible for ensuring it does not attact asb, cause stat nuisance or environmental blight - but if you find something specifically about having to check on empties please share.

Why do I never spot my typos until my waffle is posted, regardless of how many times I check it?

Hi Sue

Your typo issue made me go back and look at the permissions available to people. It turned out that whilst people could edit their own forum posts, they couldn't edit their own comments. I hadn't realiste that.

I have now changed it so you can edit your own comments, should you feel inspired to go back and correct your typos. And ditto anyone else who has long-standing typos they would like to correct.
