Enforced Sale
When my first potential speaker turned down the invitation to speak to the Herts, Beds and Bucks Empty Homes Forum about the practicalities of carrying out an Enforced Sale, I was not that worried. Four potential speakers further on, I am now "concerned". To stop me from getting to "highly distressed", I need to find another speaker. The ideal speaker would be someone who had carried out several Enforced Sales and is prepared to give to us a warts and all presentation about it. If you are that person and would be prepared to be in Stevenage for 1030hrs on Thursday 12th June, hello! If you personally cannot oblige, but you know someone who could, please grass them up to me¦ phillip.hanson@luton.gov.uk 01582-546370. Many thanks

Speaker
I'm sorry I don't have enough expertise to volunteer for your presentation. I've got a couple of forced sales on the go at the moment, but I am not an"expert". Your post did get me thinking though on a wider issue. Perhaps there should be a web link to each regional forum so that we can all see what each region is discussing and who is giving presentations so that we can all "poach" speakers?

A good idea. I have suggested finding ways of listing experts but I tihink separately from that we need to create pages for regional fora. Again, I'll give that some thought in the current round of website upgrades.

One thing your request highlights is that it would be useful to create a list of NAEPP "experts" ie people able to help out with advice or to be speakers in different areas of expertise. I'll give some thought to how best to do that in the current round of website upgrades. Ideally when people register for the site they would flag up their specialisms. There's loads of expertise amongst our membership but we don't know who has it!

Enforced Sale Speaker
I am delighted to say that Mr Andrew Lavender of Kent CC has stepped into the breach and is prepared to talk about the practical points of Enforced Sale. If EHPs from outside the Herts, Beds and Bucks Forum would like to come to his two and a half hour presentation, (it's thorough), please contact me and we will see if we can accommodate you at Stevenage.
Lond term derelict property sold!!
I attended a packed Savill's auction yesterday in Kensington High Street, where LBL were selling a derelict shell of a property -21 Beadnell Rd. SE23. We used the Law of Property Act 1925 to gain ownership of this derelict property. Our reserve price was £50k -it sold for £160k!!. Prices being gained at this auction seemed very high -not sure if this was a result of the frebile attmosphere in the room (x2 TV crews were present -including Sara Beaney) or if investors feel we have reached the bottom of the market!
