Responses to the New Homes Bonus proposals
You might be interested to know how other organisations have responded to the New Homes Bonus proposals. Alll are broadly in favour of extending them to empty homes with more or less enthusiasm. Click on the links to download the responses from the Chartered Institute of Housing, the Royal Town Planning Institute and the House Builders Federation. (Note: some members have reported problems following the HBF link. It seems you will have to have an RTPI login. You can get one, and belong to the RTPI/CIH Housing and Planning network without paying for full membership of the RTPI).

Thanks David,
as usual very helpful, except maybe the link for the House builders Federation is not working?

Link works for me
Hi Paul. Not sure what the problem is. The link works for me, though I do have a user login for the RTPI which is where the link leads. But then I am surprised if the RTPI link works for you but not the HBF one as they both go to the same site. Unfortunately the document is not available on the HBF site itself - it is flagged for members only. I have a copy but not wanting to breach copyright don't feel able to publish it directly.

Natoinal Housing Federation response
This can be donwloaded from here. Positive about empty home and also supporting our proposal that it should be paid at a flat rate of Band D for all homes. As with empty homes, social housing tends to be in lower bands.
