This is the most recent incarnation of our policy document on empty homes, last updated after the debate about Council Tax exemption class C in November 2010.
NAtional Action Plan on Empty Homes
This was the NAEPP (now EHN) policy document from 2009.
It remains a key statement of our views on how best to progress empty homes work.
We have learned that the Department of Communities and Local Government is preparing to launch a document setting out the government's strategy for empty homes. This will cover the New Homes Bonus, the role of enforcement as well as providing some high level funding criteria for the £100m included in the HCA’s Affordable Homes Programme.
It was trailed by CLG at a round-table meeting also attended by the HCA and the GLA that had been called by London's regional empty property co-ordinators to discuss the £100million.
This (see library item) is the first draft of the Empty Homes Network's contribution to the review of empty homes being conducted by the government. As with last year's National Action Plan proposals (which this effectively replaces) comments of practitioners are welcome and will be taken into account where appropriate.
This went out in November 2009.
This 3rd Edition has been substantially updated in the light of the party manifestos that have now been published.
This is the text of the NAEPP response to the Guardian special feature on empty homes. This appeared on the 14th April 2010 as a "Response" item - this is where a letter-writer is given longer than a normal letter to respond to an earlier story.
This is the library lnk to the Response item published in the Guardian, responding to a special 2-page spread on empty homes a couple of weeks earlier.
Below is the text of NAEPP's letter to the Guardian following their two-page spread on Monday 5th April
