On 14th June HACT is holding a free half day event ( 1.30 -5.00pm with lunch from 12.30) at Leeds City Hall looking at how local authorities have found ways to support community led housing through the renovation of existing vacant properties.
The event aims to:
- Showcase some successful initiatives, including grants and loans, that have been undertaken with local authorities in Leeds, Hull, Liverpool & Rochdale, both during and since the EHCGP finished in 2015
- Explore what contribution social investors and trusts & foundations can make to future arrangments
- Discuss what works best and what’s needed from the point of view of community organisations &
- Encourage other local authorities across the Yorkshire & Humberside and the North West to take similar steps
Come along and hear from the organisations and from local authorities themselves about what has been achieved to date and explore the prospects for further developments.
The main event starts at 13.30, with lunch from 12.30.
This is part of the Legacy Research that Prof. David Mullins is conducting into the Impact of the Empty Homes Community Grants Programme.
